Local Pharmacist Attends Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy Symposium

Community pharmacists Don Jacks, RPh of Medicine Tree Pharmacy in Mattawan, Michigan, recently attended a Continuing Education Symposium regarding bio-identical human hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) sponsored by Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA - an accredited provider of pharmacy education).  Pharmacists and practitioners attended the three-day Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited course held at Marriott Denver South at Park Meadows in Littleton, CO., May 13-15, 2010.

The symposium featured the latest information regarding BHRT provided by speakers Alicia Stanton, MD; George Gillson, MD, PhD; Nat Jones, RPh; and PCCA staff pharmacist Bruce Biundo, RPh.  The speakers brought attendees up-to-date on the latest BHRT therapies and how to implement them.  Discussion topics included: basic BHRT for women; men's health and andropause; nutrition; evaluation, consulting and marketing; and case studies.
